5 dinners for next week + caramel desserts 🍂

Hi Reader,

If next week already looks busy, here are five dinner ideas you can keep in your back pocket. Pick the ones that fit your schedule, add a leftovers night if you need one, and you’ve already made several decisions ahead of time.

5 dinners for the week

Baked Caesar Chicken
A good choice for a busy night because the prep is simple and the oven handles most of the work. Creamy Caesar dressing and Parmesan keep plain chicken from feeling boring.

French Onion Pork Chops
This one-skillet dinner gives you pork chops with plenty of onion flavor and keeps cleanup manageable afterward.

Mongolian Beef Bowls
A colorful 30-minute-ish dinner for the night when takeout sounds easier but you still want something homemade.

Instant Pot Kale Sausage Bean Soup
A warm, hearty soup that comes together quickly in the Instant Pot, especially nice now that cooler evenings are starting to show up.

Instant Pot Shrimp Scampi
Shrimp, garlic, and the Instant Pot make this a fast dinner when you want something that feels a little different without adding a lot of work.

You don’t have to make all five. Choose the two or three that fit your week best and leave room for leftovers, plans changing, or the night when cereal wins.

Want the meals chosen around your family instead?

These five ideas can get you started, but not every recipe fits every household. That’s why I built the Family Meal Plan Club around your actual family instead of handing everyone the same plan.

You can tell the planner about your household size, tastes, and needs, adjust servings meal by meal, and keep the ingredients organized in one grocery list for the week.

Saturday Sweets 🍮

This week’s theme is caramel, and there are a lot of good ways to use it besides putting it on an ice cream sundae.

Caramel Pecan Syrup
My recipe this week is a rich homemade syrup you can use on pancakes, waffles, French toast, ice cream, yogurt, or even your morning coffee.

Here are seven more caramel recipes from my recipe-sharing friends:

Salted Caramel Kentucky Butter Cake
A rich, buttery cake finished with salted caramel, perfect when you need a dessert that looks special enough for company.

Caramel Apple Dump Cake
Warm apples, caramel, and a crumbly cake-mix topping make this a very fall-friendly dessert without a complicated prep list.

Caramel Brownies
Fudgy dark-chocolate brownies get ribbons of caramel throughout, so you get chocolate and caramel in the same bite.

Apple Pie Caramel Apples
These caramel apples are dressed up with apple-pie flavor for a fun fall treat that feels a little more special than the classic version.

Caramel Apple Dip
A creamy caramel dip gives you all the apple-and-caramel flavor without having to wrestle with a whole caramel apple.

Caramel Popcorn
Buttery homemade caramel popcorn is a good pick for movie night, game night, or a snack bowl that disappears quickly.

Caramel Brookies
Brownies, chocolate chip cookie dough, chocolate, and caramel all show up in these layered bars when one dessert simply isn’t enough.

Which one are you more likely to make first, one of the dinners or one of the caramel desserts? Hit reply and tell me.

Have a great weekend!

Hi Reader, There are days when it feels like I have 47 things floating around in my head at once. Someone needs to be somewhere. There’s something I’m supposed to remember for school. Dinner has apparently become my responsibility again. 😆 And I know there’s at least one important thing I’m forgetting... I just can’t remember what it is. When that happens, I’ve learned that trying to get organized usually makes things worse. Instead, I check three things: 1. What absolutely has to happen...

Hi Reader, My garden has chosen its next challenge for me. Last week, zucchini and squash were taking over. This week, I walked outside to find dozens of cucumbers waiting for a plan. So naturally, I started making cucumber water and pulling together every cucumber recipe I could think of. Thankfully, figuring out what to do with dinner this week can be much simpler because I have something new for you. 🍽️ Let the new app plan dinner this week I’ve been working on a new Family Meal Planner...
